Minutes West Norwalk Association Board of Directors Meeting
February 2, 2009
Directors in attendance: Peggy Yff, Joel Zaremby, Chris Potts, Bob Wagman, James Forcellina, Regina Krummel.
Guests: Galen Wells
Meeting called to order at 7:40 PM.
January minutes approved with minor change in wording by Bob Wagman in flooding section.
Treasurers’report showed $6,243.82 as of January 31, 2009 approved.
Old Business
Amending boundaries: A decision as to voting to change the boundaries of West Norwalk to increase membership has been put off until a future meeting.
Reasons given to change boundaries included; Expand base of potential members, update as original boundaries were set up in 1947, increased dues, increased influence in city.
Chris Potts presented a plan where if you live outside the boundaries you are an associate member with no voting rights and can’t be on the board. However the board can vote you in on a per occasion basis. Peggy said there is precedence for associate members being on the board.
Flooding: As Bob Wagman feels his effectiveness with the Mayor is minimal, an adhoc committee would be formed under Bob. Galen Wells and Peggy will work to send letters and emails and Bob will work to get people together to rally behind the flooding issue. Jim Forcellina made a motion that Peggy establishes a committee with Bob Wagman as chairman. Approved.
Dolce: Peggy will speak at a Public Hearing at City Hall regarding Dolce on Wednesday February 18 at 7:30pm.
New Business
Galen Wells and Candide Valadares were unanimously elected to the board including absentee votes from Ron Paladino and William Van Deventer.
Master Plan: Bob Wagman will issue copies of the West Norwalk Master Plan so that we can vote on what issues we wish to rally behind for the community. Discussion to be had at March meeting.
Next meeting March 2.
