Minutes West Norwalk Association Board of Directors Meeting
August 7, 2006

Directors in attendance – Joan Dane, Ron Paladino, Jim Hirshfield, William Van Deventer, David Frishkorn, Joe Sette, and Jim Forcellina

Call to order – 7:45
Minutes of July 10, 2006 – approved
Treasurer’s Report -$1531.61 balance – approved
   Some discussion about Directors and officers’ liability insurance.  The renewal date is 9/18/06 with a premium of $500.  The insurance plan was handed over to Wm Van Deventer to have a West Norwalk resident insurance agent scrutinize the policy, make suggestions for additions/subtractions and a possible reduction.  To be reported back at the next meeting.

New Logo – was approved as presented with some minor format adjustments to follow.

Adopt-a-Spot Discussion – The next step will be an on-site visitation for firming up the planting plan.  Joe Sette will call some board members to accompany him to the site.  Some talk about Stanley’s offer to purchase the plantings.  There was some spirited discussion about accepting $/materials from a city developer.  Ron and David voiced their objections to accepting anything from Stanley.

September 17- ANNUAL MEETING to be held at the Meeting House, if it is available.  It will be billed as a family affair from 3:00 to 5:00 with a raffle.  Joe will see to a post card to be mailed to all of West Norwalk.  Joan will look into prizes for the raffle and Ron will be in charge of getting the grill and cooking hot dogs and hamburgers.  All Board members are asked to approach al least one vendor for raffle prizes.

The Board as a whole will act as a nominating committee for new Board members to be nominated at the Annual Meeting on 9/17.  Board members should come to the next meeting with suggested names.

Frank Bolton tendered his resignation from the Board effective immediately.

NOTA BENE:  Next Board meeting is on TUESDAY, September 5.  All members are asked to be in attendance.  This meeting is necessary to finalize plans for the Annual Meeting on September 17.
